Library Link: A Busy Summer Looms at the Airdrie Library

The arrival of summer means a busy time for the Airdrie Public Library.

If you have seen the Airdrie Public Library (APL) Summer Program brochure, you may have noticed how comprehensive it is. In fact, it’s been one of the busiest summers the Premier League has ever had.

The TD Summer Reading Club is back, July 4 through August 12, for participants from Kindergarten through Kindergarten 7. This year’s theme is Legends and Myths and offers two ways to participate: as a registered participant or as a reading diary. participant.

Summer Stories returns to Nose Creek Park (Wednesdays) and Chinook Winds Park (Thursdays).

Also, at Nose Creek Park on July 9, for 3-5 year olds, come in costume for Once Upon a Time, for two hours of magical games and crafts on the theme of fairy tales.

Preschoolers also have Rhymes and Songs, Monday Movers, Night Owls, Wacky Wednesdays, Babytime, and Stuffy Sleepover Adventure.

Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library, do a craft, have a bedtime snack, and then volunteer teens will watch over your toys for the night and keep them out of trouble!

APL offers a host of programs for teens, including Shakespeare at Nose Creek Park – a drop-in event on July 19 where youngsters can perform a play or sonnet on the park stage.

Then there’s A Very Merry Unbirthday Party on July 23 celebrating Lewis Carol’s wacky world of Alice in Wonderland, Photography Walk on July 5 will help teens explore the intricacies of capturing that perfect image on a device. photo or cell phone, and Healthy Minds in Harmony, in partnership with Stepping Stones, will explore mental health and coping skills.

For adults and teens, there’s the Book Your Own Adventure Book Club, which explores literature from each continent once a month.
